This document "Privacy Policy" (hereinafter referred to as "Policy") constitutes the terms and conditions for the collection and use of the Personal Information of the User (hereinafter referred to also as "You") by Valentyn Solodun (hereinafter referred to as "Developer") during the download, installation, and use of the mobile application «Words Wisdom» (hereinafter referred to as "Mobile application").
By downloading, installing, and using the Mobile application, you (hereinafter also referred to as "User") freely and for your own benefit give your written consent to the processing of User's Personal Information for the purposes and under the terms and conditions stipulated by this Policy.
1.1. This Policy is an integral part of the End User License Agreement (EULA) for the Mobile application. By downloading, installing, and using the Mobile application, you fully accept the terms of this Policy.
1.2. Methods of processing Personal Information include collection, recording, systematization, storage, updating, extraction, use, transfer (distribution, provision, access), blocking, deletion, and destruction of data, with or without the use of automated facilities.
1.3. Terms used in this Policy shall be interpreted in accordance with applicable laws and standard business practices unless defined otherwise herein.
2.1. When using the Mobile application for its intended purpose, the Developer minimizes the collection of personal data.
2.2. Personal Information in this Policy means:
2.2.1. Account Information: The Mobile application allows usage as a "Guest" or via authentication using third-party providers (Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple).
If you choose to sign in, we collect the authentication token and basic profile information (such as email address and user identifier) provided by Google or Apple solely to secure your account and synchronize your data across devices.
We do not collect or store manual passwords.
Payment Data: All financial transactions (subscriptions and purchases) are handled directly by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card information or billing details. We only receive a confirmation (receipt) that a purchase was made to unlock features.
2.2.2. Technical Data: Data transmitted in a depersonalized form in automatic mode, depending on the settings of the User's software and device (e.g., device model, OS version, screen resolution, locale/language settings).
2.2.3. Learning Data: Progress data, including quiz scores, vocabulary lists, spaced repetition schedules, and "known" vs "unknown" word classifications.
2.3. Third-Party Software & Analytics: User acknowledges and accepts the possibility of using third-party software in the Mobile application. These parties may collect and process data in a depersonalized form.
The aforementioned third-party software may include:
Google Firebase / Google Analytics: Used for app stability (Crashlytics) and usage analytics. Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Cloud Text-to-Speech Services: The app may utilize cloud services (such as Google Cloud or Amazon AWS) to generate audio for vocabulary pronunciation. Text data (words) are sent to these services to generate audio files; no user voice data is recorded or transmitted.
RevenueCat: This service is used to manage subscription infrastructure and process purchase receipts. It collects purchase history and anonymous user identifiers to determine your subscription status. Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
2.4. Voice and Audio: The Mobile application does not request access to your microphone and does not record your voice. Audio features are limited to playback (Text-to-Speech) for educational purposes.
The legal basis on which the Developer relies for the use of Personal Information includes: 3.1. Contractual Necessity: Processing is necessary to provide the service (e.g., backing up your learning progress to our servers so you don't lose it). 3.2. Consent: Where you have logged in via Google/Apple or opted into analytics.
4.1. Our App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal data, please contact us, and we will remove it promptly.
5.1. The Developer is entitled to use Personal Information for the following purposes:
5.1.1. Service Provision: Ensuring the spaced repetition algorithm functions correctly and synchronizing User progress to the database.
5.1.2. Account Management: Authenticating Users via Google or Apple to prevent unauthorized access to User data.
5.1.3. Support: Communicating with the User via email regarding technical issues or feedback.
5.1.4. Analytics: Statistical research based on depersonalized data to improve the Mobile application interface and features.
6.1. Subject to applicable law (including GDPR), the User has the right:
6.1.1. To be informed about the collection and use of their personal data.
6.1.2. To access their personal data and request correction if inaccurate.
6.1.3. To request deletion of their personal data (the "Right to be Forgotten") and account.
6.1.4. To restrict or object to processing of their personal data.
6.1.5. To receive personal data in a structured, machine-readable format (Data Portability).
6.2. These rights may be exercised by contacting the Developer at support@wordswisdom.app. The Developer will address requests in a timely manner.
7.1. Storage Location: User data (including learning progress and account details) is stored on secure servers located in Falkenstein, Germany (European Union). 7.2. Retention Period: Personal Information is stored only as long as necessary to accomplish the purpose for which it is collected. 7.3. If the User requests account deletion, personal identifiers are removed from our active databases. Analytics data is retained in a depersonalized format for statistical purposes.
8.1. The Developer implements reasonable security measures to protect Personal Information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. 8.2. Communication between the Mobile application and the servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols.
9.1. The Developer is entitled to transfer Personal Information to third parties only in the following cases:
9.1.1. The transfer is necessary for the functionality of the app (e.g., authentication via Google/Apple, hosting providers).
9.1.2. Upon request of a court or state authority as required by law.
9.1.3. In the event of a sale or transfer of the Developer's assets.
10.1. This Policy may be amended by the Developer. The User is recommended to review this Policy regularly. 10.2. The new version becomes effective upon its placement in the Mobile application or on the app store listing.
